Lynn O'Connor Research

As a noted Author and Lecturer, Dr. O’Connor gives speeches, lectures and presentations both nationally and internationally. She is highly respected and maintains a special interest in Women’s Colorectal Health where she places great emphasis on the importance of maintaining good colon and rectal health, as well as colon cancer screening.

She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, a member of the Society of Black academic Surgeons, a member of the National Medical Association, and a member of the New York Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Dr. O’Connor is also a regular participant at the Women in Surgery Organization, where she teaches and discusses issues and challenges confronting women as they seek to advance in a changing, but still male-dominated field. The annual symposiums staff interact, exchange ideas and formulate effective career strategies with surgical professionals and students alike. They share success stories and knowledge on how to break the glass ceiling in surgery and create a future filled with professional success and achievement.
